The official curtain-raiser programme marking the 50th anniversary of the KSCSTE–National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) was inaugurated on 14 July 2026 by Shri P. K. Basheer, Hon’ble Minister for Public Works and Chief Guest of the programme.
The event marked the launch of three major Golden Jubilee initiatives:
• Golden Jubilee Logo: Released by the Hon’ble Minister for Public Works, Shri. P. K. Basheer, symbolizing five decades of excellence in transport research.
• Activity Calendar: A compilation of year-long scientific and technical events, released by Shri. K. R. Cleetus, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Councillor.
• ‘TRANSFORM 2026’ Logo: The logo for NATPAC’s upcoming international conference on safe and sustainable transportation was released by Shri. Bidur Kant Jha, Director, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India.
Following the inaugural session, a high-level panel discussion on “KERALA ON THE MOVE: Shaping Future Mobility for 2047” was organized. Moderated by Shri. T. Elangovan, former Director of NATPAC, the panel featured distinguished experts including Shri. Bidur Kant Jha (Director, MoRTH), Dr. M. P. Ramnavas (Director – Projects, Kochi Metro Rail Limited), Dr. Kuncheria P. Isaac (Founder Vice-Chancellor, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University), and Prof. Tom V. Mathew (Head of Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay & Chairman, NATPAC Research Council).
